Job Title: Personal Assistant/Support Worker

Hourly rate: £9.00

Hours/shifts: 1.5hrs (am) – 1.5hrs (pm) Monday – Sunday + 3hrs on a Tuesday for shopping

This role would be for 2 people to share the hours – to be agreed at interview

 

Summary

 

  • I am an 82 year old gentleman with Alzheimer’s looking for support
  • I need support to live independently in my own home
  • Experience of working with Alzheimer’s is desirable
  • I require a driver with their own car

 

 

Other Requirements

         

  • Must have a UK driving licence
  • Must have access to own vehicle

         

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description

Typical duties

Domestic -       

Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away

Helping with laundry, washing and drying

Loading and unloading the washing machine

Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line

Changing bed linen

Bed making

General cleaning

Taking out rubbish

General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.

Preparing drinks, snacks and meals

Tidying

 

 

Personal Care: 

  • Prompting to complete own personal care
  • Assistance with applying cream on legs and feet
  • Help with dispensing tablets
  • Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets

Social:   

  • Accompanying to doctors/hospital appointments when required
  • The above duties will involve driving me in the PA’s car, lifting the folding wheelchair in/out of car, pushing the manual wheelchair when out.  Alternatively, I would use my walking stick.
  • Shopping/picking up medication once a month

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
