A young and energetic family in Bordon with two children is looking for the support of a personal assistant to help care for their 6 year old son. He loves to have fun but also needs consistent care for his complex physical needs. He is non-verbal but communicates well with body language so would require a flexible person who would get to know him well.

• He has complex physical difficulties and is non-verbal but he has a good level of understanding and he loves to have fun.
• The successful applicant will be fun and enjoy their time with the family as well as providing care.
• The right applicant will need to manage personal care, dressing and feeding and ideally have experience of using equipment including hoists, wheelchairs and PEG feeding. However, training can be given.

Other Requirements

Must be happy to work in a smoking environment
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

To support me to live independently by assisting with day to day duties.

Typical duties

Personal Care:
Washing and bathing/showering

To generally have fun with the young boy and keep him entertained and to access fun activities.

The successful applicant will be fun and enjoy their time with my son as well as care for him. As he is non- verbal the applicant should be prepared to take time to understand his body language and meet his needs.

be reliable and consistent and be prepared to be flexible to fit in with the needs of a young family.

Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Be Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
Be, Patience, creative and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Be Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
