Job Title: Personal Care Assistant

Hours/shifts: term time only 6.50-7.50am
I am looking for a carer for my son, this early shift involves getting him out of bed, dressed, fed, and ready for school pick up at 7.50am
Carer must be physically fit, as some manual handling is involved.
Be willing to learn or be able to administer medication via gastrostomy.
Be familiar with using a hoist. (training can be given)
My son is 16 years old, although fortunately very small for his age, he is non verbal, and needs assistance with every aspect of his life, therefore fully reliant on his carers.
School holiday hours are available, 7.30-9am at £10 per hour.
Other Requirements
• Must have a UK driving licence 
• Must have access to own vehicle

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
Typical duties
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Personal Care: 
• Washing and bathing/showering – 
• Helping with other aspects of personal care as required,
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
• Physiotherapy exercises

The successful applicant will be:

Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
