He has an infectious laugh and really enjoys being with people.• We are looking for someone who is keen to use different ways to stimulate our son’s attempts to communicate including using switches, vocalisations, games etc.• Our son likes spending time in the garden in nice weather• Our son needs someone who enthusiastic, flexible, willing to learn.• We have full hoist facilities at home.• Training will be given. • We live in Southwater, Horsham with easy off road parking. Typical Tasks will includeDomestic - Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting awayCleaning and tidying of bedroom and bathroom including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming. Personal Care: Washing and showering – towelling dry/ drying hairHoisting between bed and shower as requiredGeneral hair/skin careDressing and undressingHoisting between wheelchair and bedHelping with other aspects of personal care required Physiotherapy exercises Giving enteral feeds via gastrostomy tube after full trainingAdministration of medication after full training Social: Accompanying on trips out e.g. to parks, seaside, cinema, shops, sensory room, cycling on cycle track on adapted bicycle, farms, gardens, garden centre and other placesThe above duties will involve helping to transfer our son in his wheelchair in and out of the car using a ramp and pushing my son’s wheelchair when out.
