Location: Havant /Hourly rate: £10 per hour/Reference: DP5376

Summary


We are looking for a personal care assistant to provide support for our 9 year old son. The role will entail both social and personal care within the shift. Previous training with the use of hoist and PEG feed preferable. Our son loves being read to, and communicates mainly via his facial expressions. Previous experience of working with younger children and some experience with working children who have additional needs would be preferable. They would need to be patient, have a caring nature and bubbly.


Other Requirements

Must be comfortable with pets- two cats & dog
Must have a UK driving licence
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Personal Care:
Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
General hair/skin care
Using the toilet
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Getting into bed
Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist
Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
Gastronomy feeding

Social:
To provide support with social activities like reading and being able to entertain our son
