Job Title: Support Worker

Location: Worthing            

Hourly rate: £9.83 per hour depending on experience

Hours/shifts: Monday 2 pm – 6 pm, Friday 11 am – 2 pm, Holiday cover for overnights and weekends



 I am gentleman looking for a Personal Care Assistant to help me to live independently.

This will involve domestic tasks like general housework & doing the dishes.

I also need someone who can use a computer to check emails, surf the internet and write letters

You may have accompany me when I walk my assistance dog. This will not be often as I have someone to regularly help with this. Minimal help with manoeuvring my electric wheelchair.

There is a small element of personal care involved.


Other Requirements

  • Must be comfortable with pets- I have an Assistance dog who is very gentle and loving.
  • Must be happy to work in a smoking environment- door is always open to air out.  

willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


Typical duties

Domestic -      

Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away

Taking out rubbish.

Preparing drinks, snacks and meals and clearing up afterwards.


Any other reasonable task

Personal Care:  

Minimal Catheter Care

Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings

Helping with other aspects of personal care as required,

Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')

Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat

Any other reasonable task

The successful applicant will be: 

  • Able to tolerate the employer smoking in the work place
  • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good time-keeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Creative
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
