Summary:• I am looking for someone special with an outgoing personality to help look after my 10 year old son.• He is fun loving, loves noise and playing with toys and musical instruments. He is very tactile, enjoying foot massages and water play.• He is happiest when he is with somebody who is interacting with him and enabling him to engage with the world.• The role is based in our home, with a variety of shifts available including afternoon after school, weekend and overnight.• My son has complex medical needs and requires assistance with personal care. • This is a rewarding role and although ideally you will have experience of looking after someone with a range of support needs, it is more important that you are kind, have a sense of humour and are willing to learn.• Full training will be given.• Pay will increase upon successful completion of probation and training. Personal Care: • Suctioning• Gastrostomy feeding• Washing and bathing/showering • General hair/skin care• Continence care• Full support with all aspects of personal care, eg washing, dressing and getting into bed• Medication• Massage of limbs to improve circulation Social: Ensuring my son feels included by engaging with him through reading and chatting to him whilst you support him.
