Job Title: Personal Care Assistant

Location:  Crawley         

Hourly rate: £10.00 ph

Hours/shifts: Mon – Fri 8-9 am and Mon-Fri 8-9 pm – Job share considered.



  • I am a lady in my 40’s looking to employ female PA’s to assist me with aspects of personal and general care.
  • I have limited mobility and have been diagnosed with Epilepsy and Asthma
  • The support I require can vary day by day according to my health
  • I require support to access the toilet, to shower as well as washing and dressing
  • I will also require support with hair washing/drying, preparing drinks/snacks and prompting medication.
  • Applying skin cream and assisting me into my nightwear on the evening shift
  • Clean the wet room/shower/toilet area once a week

Other Requirements

  • "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9."


All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


Typical duties

Domestic -       

Helping with laundry

Changing bed linen

Bed making

Occasional general housework and cleaning.

Preparing drinks & snacks.


Personal Care

  • Washing and showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
  • Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
  • Help getting into and out of shower as required
  • Assistance with applying cream
  • General hair/skin care
  • Using the toilet
  • Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
  • Getting into bed
  • Help with dispensing tablets
  • Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets

Person specification

The successful applicant will be: 

  • Female * due to personal care needs
  • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
  • Reliable with good time-keeping
  • Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
  • Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
  • Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
  • Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
  • Honest and cheerful
  • Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
  • Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
  • Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
