• Personal Care Assistant required to support a 5 year old boy who is on the autistic spectrum.
• The child is a chatty, energetic and a busy boy who loves trains, playing on his IPAD, climbing, riding his bike and scooter.
• The work involves caring for and supporting the child to access fun and leisure activities.
• Support is also required within the home environment.
• The carer will be providing respite opportunities for the child’s family.


Casual – weekends/evenings/school holidays


Must have a UK driving licence
Must have access to own vehicle
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical Tasks will include

Domestic -
Any domestic tasks associated with the care of the child e.g. tidying kitchen after use, running hoover around after an activity, keeping home tidy and clean and Changing bed sheets,

Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Helping with laundry, washing and drying
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.

Personal Care:
Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing as required
Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
Assistance with applying cream
Using the toilet/changing nappies
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Getting into bed
Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting the child to get changed at swimming pool.

Supporting, supervising and ensuring the safety and wellbeing of the child when out on trips out e.g. catching the bus/train, swimming lessons, visiting theme parks, going out on bike/scooter
The above duties will involve driving the child in the PA’s car

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
