Job Title: Personal Care Assistant

Hourly rate: Saturday and Sunday £12.00

Hours/shifts: Wednesday: 4.30 pm – 7 pm

Thursday: 11am - 1pm & 4.30pm – 7pm

Friday: 4.30pm – 7pm

Saturday: 4pm - 6pm

Sunday: 4pm - 6pm

Additional hours may be available


• I am a 33 year old man who lives as independently as possible in my own home.
• I have Cerebral Palsy, which affects my mobility. I walk with the aid of a stick and also use a mobility scooter when out locally.
• I am looking for support with personal care/showering/washing/dressing and help to run my home.
• I love getting ‘out and about’ and meeting up with friends and socializing, but I need support with some activities such as accessing the community, shopping and attending appointments.
• I enjoy things like; visiting the cinema, shopping and visiting coffee shops.
• I require a driver with their own car so that I can assess the community.

Other Requirements

• Must have a UK driving licence
• Must have access to own vehicle

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


Typical duties
Domestic -
Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Helping with laundry, washing and drying
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork
Making phone calls on my behalf when I am too unwell to do this.

Personal Care:

• Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
• Supervision and/or assistance with showering, drying, hair washing/ brushing as required
• Help getting into and out of bath/shower as required
• Assistance with applying cream
• General hair/skin care
• Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
• Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets
• Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool/gym.

• Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
• Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, including; trips to the cinema or bowling
• Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
• Occasional longer journeys
• The above duties will involve driving the employer in the PA’s car.

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
