Job Title: Personal Care Assistant

Hourly rate: £10.00

Hours/shifts –up to 5 hours per week (time and day to be agreed by both employer and employee)

• Support is needed to look after my four year old son. He has high needs but is fully mobile.
• My son has a hearing impairment, developmental delay and communication problems.
• The work will involve supporting and caring for the child whilst taking him to activities such as; Soft play, parks and going for walks whilst pushing him in his pushchair.
• Part of the job will involve taking and/or collecting the child from nursery
• My son is a friendly and loving little boy, who wants to interact with everyone!
• My son needs support with accessing Social and Leisure activities.
• I require a driver with their own car so that they can access a variety of activities.

Other Requirements
• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during work hours.
• Must have a UK driving licence
• Must have access to own vehicle
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Personal Care:
Changing nappies
Help with all aspects of personal care
Changing clothes where appropriate
Occasional support may be need with bedtime routine e.g. Washing and bathing/showering – towelling dry/ drying hair
Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings
Pushing pushchair
Preparing snakes and drinks
Sitting/supervising/encouraging the child whilst he is eating.
ensuring that the child is drinking regularly

• Supporting, caring and supervising the child when accessing fun and leisure activities such as; soft play, visiting the parks and going for walks.
• The above duties will involve driving the child in the PA’s car, lifting the folding pushchair in/out of car, pushing the child’s pushchair when out
• Taking and collecting the child to/from nursery.

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
