Hours/shifts: A total of 60 hours (5 shifts) to be covered by a job share of 2 or more PA's

• I am a 44 year old man looking for support in my own home joining a well-established team
• I need support with accessing the community as my disability creates some visual issues
• I have cerebral palsy and it's helpful if you have had training with using hoists
• I enjoy a number of social activities which includes music, dance, writing (I am a published author), cinema, theatre, hydrotherapy church
• I require drivers with clean licences. I have an accessible vehicle

• This is a rewarding role with a team who have been together for a number of years. Induction and training will be provided.

Other Requirements 
 Must be comfortable with pets  
• All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Domestic - 

Changing bed linen
Bed making
Washing, drying,ironing and putting away
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
Minor household maintenance e.g changing light bulbs
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Maintenance of small garden, perhaps half an hour a week
Assist with looking after a shared dog with my mother
Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork
Making phone calls on my behalf when I request
Hospitality for guests

Personal Care: 
Hoisting into and out of bath
• Washing and bathing – towelling dry/ drying hair
• General hair/skin care
• Conveen care
• Using the toilet- use of micro enemas
• Dressing and undressing
• Hoisting into and out of bed and into and out of wheelchair
• Assistance with medication – using dispenser boxes
• Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool
• Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
• Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat,drinks

• Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips.
• Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities.
• Accompanying employer to doctors/hospital appointments when required
• Occasional longer journeys
• Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the library, theatre, cinema, music group, church dance groups
• Driving and accompanying to social events
• Accompanying on trips out e.g. to the beach or in the woods or, visiting friends
• The above duties may involve driving the employer in his accessible  vehicle
• Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with computer activities
