Summary I am an active, sporty and sociable young man with a keen interest in sports and current affairs and would like to employ a PA/ PA’s who are fun, with a good sense of humor and who can engage with me in my sporting interests. I have cerebral palsy affecting all four of my limbs and use a power chair to move around and a hoist for transfers within my home. PA’s who have some experience of manual handling is preferred although training can be given. I require support with all my personal care needs during the day and night. Due to the personal nature of this role I require a male PA’s, exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9." The PA/PA’s will be required to drive me to and from and stay with me while I attend my weekly football training. They will need to have a full, clean driving license and be able to drive my adapted car. Other Requirements "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9." Must have a UK driving licence and be able to drive my adapted car. All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued fixed term employment contracts. Description Typical duties: Domestic Preparation of required meals, drinks and snacks. Ensuring kitchen surfaces are clean before and after food preparation. Tidying away and washing up after meals. Personal Care: Following morning and evening routines- Washing and showering Assisting with drying, brushing and styling hair Using the toilet Dressing and undressing/ helping with buttons and fastenings Getting into bed Assistance with getting out of bed using a hoist Assistance with medication i.e. helping to take tablets from foil/packets and recording as per procedures Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring') Mealtimes Physiotherapy exercises after training has been given Social: Driving and accompanying to football training. The above duty will involve driving the employer’s adapted car and using the lift to get the wheelchair in and out of car. The person will be able to treat people with dignity and respect and adopt a person-centered approach to their support. Able to demonstrate the ability to work in an empowering manner. The person must be entitled to work in the UK. Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
