• Personal Care Assistant required providing care and support to a 39 year old female wheelchair user in her own home.

• Assistance is required with personal care, food preparation, housework and social activities.

• The ideal candidate will be friendly, reliable and enjoy chatting and laughing.


5 evenings per week after 7pm for 1 hour, to include Saturday, Sunday & 3 others to be agreed

1 hour Sunday lunch time: 12:00 to 1pm

Flexibility to these hours may be agreed

Job Share available, please apply if you can do any of the above shifts
Occasionally hours may change due to Employer’s work or social commitments – advance notice will be given.
Occasionally extra hours will be available. For example, the Employer will occasionally require a PA to attend a work-related or leisure event during the day or evening (usually between 2-5 hours) and to cover holiday and sickness

UK driving licence and happy to drive me in my mobility car at times
Must have access to own vehicle
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


General housework including cleaning. Tidying, laundry and ironing
Changing bed linen
Taking out rubbish
Cooking and preparing meals and drinks
Occasional shopping
Correspondence e.g. assisting with household paperwork, making phone calls, posting letters and parcels

Personal Care:
Assisting with washing and drying
Combing hair
Prompting medication and applying creams
Emptying commode
Dressing and undressing
Physiotherapy exercises Helping with other aspects of personal care as required, for example assisting employer to get changed at swimming pool/gym.
Getting in and out of the wheelchair ('transferring')
Mealtimes e.g. cutting up food, assistance to eat
Physiotherapy exercises

Whilst on duty at the employer’s home, watching TV and general chat
Accompanying and support Employer with social events such as:
Theatre and art centres
Sport events
Training days

The above duties may involve driving the employer in her Wheelchair Accessible vehicle.

Previous experience is not essential; an ability to listen and take a kind and common sense approach is crucial.
