Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Personal Care Assistant/Support Worker TM1545 Job Title: Personal Care Assistant/Support WorkerLocation: Church Crookham, Fleet, Hampshire Hourly rate: £9.00Reference:TM1545 Hours/shifts: 5 hours a week (preferably weekends) Summary • I am a 10 year old boy who is on the go all the time and likes to be outside• I need support with fun activities to keep me busy and to give Mum & Dad some respite!• I have high functioning Autism, ADHD and severe anxiety.• I love searching for treasures, collecting things, going to the beach, long walks and generally being out and about (whatever the weather!)• I require a driver with their own car.• Previous experience with children/young people with special needs would be welcomed, but not essential. Other Requirements • Must be fit, active & healthy to keep up with a very high energy boy!• Must be a non-smoker • Must have a UK driving licence • Must have access to own vehicle • Successful applicant will be required to have a DBS check through Hampshire County Council All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service checkSuccessful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. DescriptionTypical dutiesDomestic:• Any domestic tasks associated with the care of the child. For example tidying up after preparing food or playing with games. Personal care:• Prompting the child to use the toilet.• Prompting the child to drink. Social: • Taking the child on shopping trips when required• Accompany when accessing social and leisure activities, including swimming.• Longer journeys to the beach (1 hour away)• Going on trips out for lunch, picnics etc.• Long walks in the woods and parks (in all weathers!).• Outdoor games• The above duties will involve driving William in the PA’s car. • Whilst on duty at the employer’s home playing and assisting with child-led activities Person specificationThe successful applicant will be: • Great with children• Respectful of the child and their family’s privacy and confidentiality• Reliable with good time-keeping• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills• Honest and cheerful• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & SafetyPrevious experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
