Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Personal Carer-JS1558 Personal Carer required in the area of Braishfield – near RomseyWe are a family of 5 based in Braishfield who require a warm, friendly, caring and well organised personal assistant to assist with the regular morning routine for our profoundly disabled 12 year old daughter. She needs support with her personal care from 6:45am Monday to Friday so she is ready to be collected for school at 8:15am. In addition to the regular morning routine there will be flexible opportunities for further hours at the weekend and on school holidays. Main morning routine/duties:• Undressing, dressing, washing or bathing• Administering medications, administering water via a gastro tube• Feeding breakfast (oral)• Using hoist/specialist chairs/wheelchairs (training will be giving)Essential knowledge & skills• Able to learn/understand the needs of a disabled person• Honest, trustworthy, reliable with good timekeeping• Self-motivated, able to follow instructions and work on own initiative• Able to work to high standards, remaining hygienic and tidy• Able to speak good standard of English• Female applicants only • Eligible to work in the UK, • Successful applicant has to undergo a DBS checked, paid for by the employerDesirable knowledge/skills• Experience of providing personal care and working with disabled children (informal experience considered e.g. experience gained as family member, friend etc.)Pay: £9.50 - £9.80 per hour dependant on experience Holiday pay: The successful applicant will be entitled to 5.6 weeks holiday payWorking hours:06:45 – 08:15 Monday – Friday with potential for further hours at the weekend and on school holidays.
