Job Title: Personal Support Assistant
Location: Croydon – Fairfield area
Hourly rate: £10 (can be discussed depending on experience)

Hours/shifts: Up to 16 hours/week – 2 or 3 evenings on weekdays and 8 hours on a Saturday, to be discussed with employer at interview.

This role involves assisting me with care of my 2 children, taking or collection from nursery or activities, meal preparation and helping with bedtime routines. Also, to assist with some light domestic tasks around my home, mostly cleaning and tidying that I can’t manage alone.
At home and when I’m feeling well enough, I enjoy knitting, making cakes and balloon modelling. I also have an interest in beauty and practice my techniques on dummy models. I have a bright outlook on life which I hope a PA can share with me.
An ideal candidate would be flexible in there approach, have a great sense of humour, be likeminded and share similar interest. Also, to have experience of looking after children under 5 would be preferred.

Other Requirements
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Domestic -
Light domestic cleaning including:
Tidying up the rooms
Washing dishes
Vacuum cleaning
Assisting with shopping - when shopping is delivered to my home, helping to put it away as directed. Also, to do a small bit of shopping when requested.

Personal Care of my children:
Bathing/washing/drying skin and hair
Brushing hair and teeth
Changing nappies
Helping to use the toilet
Meal preparation/cutting up food/feeding
Assisting with bedtime routine

Social aspects for the children:
• Deliver/collect the children from nursey when required
• Accompany and participate in activates e.g. swimming, play park, football
• Occupying/engaging/playing while employer is at doctor/hospital appointments when required

Person specification
The successful applicant will be/have:
• Experience of looking after pre-school aged children
• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality
• Reliable with good time-keeping
• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Honest and cheerful
• Creative
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
