Job Title: Personal Support Assistant/ Care support worker

Location:    Farnborough        

Hourly rate: £9.50 p/h

Hours/shifts: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30-4.30pm with additional hours potentially available. The availability to work some or all of these hours considered.



  • I am a 27 year old young lady looking for a PA to support me to access the community safely to help me to participate in fun and planned activities.
  • I have Autism and I am non-verbal so I require a PA to have had training or experience in using Makaton, however training can be provided for the right candidate.
  • I live at home with my parents who will be taking on the role of the employer and will be working alongside the PA to ensure that all my needs are met.
  • I enjoy sewing, swimming, going to the cinema and I have a particular love for musical theatre.
  • The PA role is predominately to enable and support me and other than preparing my food, drinks and supporting me to take medication there are no personal care tasks involved in this role.
  • I can become anxious in unfamiliar situations and require a skilled PA with a proactive approach to help me to feel safe and secure. I am described as the loveliest girl when I feel settled and when I get to know the people caring for me.
  • I require a driver with their own car and a mileage rate will be paid for any work related journeys that will be made with me.
  • This is an interesting and rewarding role working alongside a lovely and supportive family.

Must have a UK driving licence

Must have access to own vehicle

Non smoker preferred.

Typical duties:


  • Preparing drinks, snacks and meals and tidying away
  • Shopping


Personal Care: 

  • Assistance with medication and recording as per the procedures.  


  • Accompanying and assisting on shopping trips when required.
  • Accompany me when accessing social and leisure activities, including going swimming and supporting me when in the swimming pool.
  • Driving and accompanying to social events such as the cinema and the theatre.
  • Driving me to and collecting me from respite and while I am at respite taking me out for planned activities.
  • Accompanying me on trips out to visit family and friends.
  • Whilst on duty at my home planning and assisting with craft activities.

Person specification

The successful applicant will: 

  • Have previous experience of working with autistic clients is preferred
  • be an excellent communicator with outgoing personality
  • have previous experience with Makaton is an advantage however training can be provided
  • be reliable and trustworthy
