Carers respite service

We provide activities for older people, people with support needs, and those living with dementia. The support we provide allows carers some time and space for themselves.
Our aim at Independent Lives is to support you in your caring role and give you the time and space to be yourself.

Our trained staff and volunteers will work with you and the person you care for to put together a programme of activities that suit the needs and interests of both you and the person you care for.

“Before we found Independent Lives, things were getting difficult. Every open door seemed to close, people were turning us away, and we couldn’t find the support we needed. Now, my husband gets to leave the house a few days a week and take part in lots of different fun activities, and he’s always a completely different person when he gets home – so cheerful and more relaxed.”

In April 2021 we were inspected by the Care Quality Commission and were delighted to receive a 'Good' rating. We got great feedback in every category which is all thanks to our amazing staff.
