Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Social Support and Personal Care Assistant DP758b Job Title: Social Support & Personal Care Assistants Location: Worthing (Goring by Sea) Hourly rate: £9.00 per hour, during probationary period possible increase after 3 months.Reference:DP758b Hours/shifts: School Holidays only 15 hours a week, Mon – Fri 4 – 7pmWeekend day shifts available on request on a regular basis if needed • We are looking for carers to come and join us and our family, this is a position in our own family home rather than a company setting.• As a family we have 5 other carers already in Place and every shift is working with or alongside another team member, so team work is essential.• Our lads are 15 and 17 years old. One young lad speaks verbally and can use up to 3 word sentences, he is a mischievous character and will keep you on your toes, the other is non-verbal and uses eye contact.• Both lads are fully wheelchair dependent. • Lifting and handling is involved in this position so this role requires that you are fit, strong and enthusiastic at all times and keen to learn the daily routine. • The lads will require a lot of assistance during the day ,at mealtimes, all personal care, out and about ,collecting from school or at home .They are fully dependent on an adult and have very complex abilities. • Please note that you will be working alongside a team of PAs to look after both lads together. Although there may be some lone working on a one to one basis with one of them.In house Training is available for the position, hoist training, medication, and first aid.No experience needed, Non drivers are welcome.
