Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Social Support Assistant DP6015 Job Title: Social Support WorkerLocation: Worthing Hourly rate: £9 Reference: DP6015 Hours/shifts: 4-6 hours on a Saturday depending on what my son is doing that day. Summary My son is 14 years old and is a lively and happy child. He is Autistic and has some learning difficulties but excels in sports. He mainly needs support when he goes to football on a Saturday but may want to do other activities. I would like someone who shares his interests in sports and who would be willing to take him to the occasional Brighton and Hove Albion match. There may be extra hours on a Sunday but this will not be often and can be agreed as and when they are available. Other Requirements • Must be comfortable with pets as we have a lovely Beagle • Must have a UK driving licence • Must have access to own vehicle • Other : All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service checkSuccessful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. DescriptionTypical duties Domestic - My son may need some guidance and reminding to tidy up his room. Social: • Accompanying and assisting with shopping trips when required as my son enjoys baking so may need to buy ingredients. • Accompany him when accessing social and leisure activities, including football and swimming.• Occasional longer journeys, maybe to a theme park during the school holidays.• Accompanying on trips out e.g. Trampolining or other activities. • Driving and accompanying to social events such as: Cinema or football away games.• The above duties will involve driving my son in the PA’s car.• Whilst on duty at home, supporting my son with baking and playing the occasional game on the Xbox Person specificationThe successful applicant will be: • Preferably a non-smoker• Preferably someone who shares my son’s interests. • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality• Reliable with good time-keeping• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised• Fit and healthy to join in with my son• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills• Honest and cheerful• Creative• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety Previous experience preferred.
