Job Title: Social Support Assistant

Location: Lyminster, Littlehampton           

Hourly rate:  £10.00 per hour      

Reference:  MP6753           

Hours/shifts: 5.5 hours per week

3.5 hours to be worked from 4.30pm on a Friday evening

The remaining 2 hours to be worked weekdays after 4pm by agreement with employer.

 

Summary

Social Support Assistant


We are looking to employ someone to work with out 12 year old autistic son who has also been diagnosed with Apraxia. He is very loving and caring but has a very anxious disposition and limited verbal communication.

This role will involve taking him out into the local community to access activities he enjoys such as cinema and play parks.

Other times you will be required to supervise him at home with cooking/baking, something he thoroughly enjoys.

This could be a very rewarding role for the right person.

 

Other Requirements

         

  • Must have a UK driving licence
  • Must have access to own vehicle
  • We are a non smoking household with no pets.

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description

To encourage and support the client to safely access activities in and out of the home. Some of the activities may require your participation.

 

Typical duties

Domestic -       

Just small tasks such as warming up/serving a pre-prepared dinner.

Making drinks and snacks.

Social:   

Support to cope with anxiety while in the local community

To participate in leisure and social activities as required

To work together cooking/baking in the home as required

To drive client in your own car as required in exchange for 35p per mile mileage.
