Job Title: Social Support Assistant to cover sickness
Location:       Crawley     
Hourly rate:        £9.50
Reference:    DP4935a         
Hours/shifts: 12pm – 4pm Tuesday and Thursday, although days can be flexible for the right person
• I am looking to employ one or two social support assistants to work with my 30 year old son with Social and Learning difficulties
• He is physical able bodied but I would like to someone to assist my son to plan and access the things he enjoys as well as suggesting new activities
• You would need to enable him to access these activities via public transport as he does not like travelling by car
• There is no personal care required in this role.

Other Requirements
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
Typical duties
Planning and accompanying me on trips to London & Brighton by a mixture of train and bus.
Accompany and participate with me in activities such as Bowling, pitch & putt, snooker etc.
Accompany me to cafes and restaurants.
Suggest and organise new activities with me.
To encourage and reassure me to try out new activities.

Person specification
The successful applicant will be: 
Reliable with good time-keeping
Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
