Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Social Support Assistant/Care Assistant MP6507 Job Title: Female* Social Support/Care AssistantLocation: Littlehampton Hourly rate: £10 per hour Reference: MP6057 Hours/shifts: 62 hours available every 4 weeksJob share considered Summary • Social Support Assistant required for woman in late 20’s living with partner in apartment• Client’s main difficulties include mobility and balance• Assist and facilitate employer to access her local and greater community• Must be willing and strong enough to push client in wheelchair• Due to tinnitus, applicants must have a clear speaking voice• Client enjoys riding her horse that is stabled at Ferring Country Centre• Must be comfortable in a horse stables environment• Client enjoys café culture, pub quiz’s, bingo, socializing etc• Assistance required to access different exercise classes• Assist client to remain as independent as possible• Assist with general household tasks as required eg changing bedclothes, washing up etc• No regular personal care required• Assistance with cooking and baking• Client’s health can fluctuate on a daily basis• Client is also the employer• You will be required to drive client in your own vehicle in return for 35p per mile mileage. Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with craft activities Plus any other related tasks as requiredThe successful applicant will be: • Female * due to personal care needs • Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality• Reliable with good time-keeping• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills• Honest and cheerful• Creative• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & SafetyPrevious experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
