Hours/shifts: Term time: every Sat or Sun 9am-7pm=10hrs. negotiable 40 hours a month

School holidays: 7am-9am Monday-Friday 10 hours per week. Occasional evening hours available

Summary

 

  • Are you fit, enthusiastic have a good sense of humour then this may be the position for you?

 

  • Family Support workers required to provide day to day care for two young boys aged 13 and 14. Both the boys enjoy football, cinema, bowling, swimming.

 

  • Please note that you will be working alongside a young team of PAs to look after both children together. Also there may be some lone working on a one to one basis with one of the children.

 

  • I am a mother of 2 children, one child has a level of deafness but understands speech and lip reads. He has a lively personality and loves stories.

 

  • My other son speaks verbally and can use up to 3 word sentences. He is a mischievous character and will keep you on your toes. Both are wheelchair dependent lifting and handling involved in the position. Both boys will need a lot of assistance including during mealtimes assistants with eating.

  • This advert is for two positions and you will not be working alone with both the young boys.

Lifting children to and from wheelchairs / bed

Accompanying the children to school and medical appointments

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
