10 hours per week

2 hours per day from 11-1 Monday to Friday, but some flexibility available, to be discussed at interview.


Summary:
I’m an older person with mobility issues but still enjoy getting out and about on my mobility scooter. Around the home I enjoy watching soaps on the TV, cooking Caribbean food, gardening, arts and crafts and I need support with these activities.
This role involves assisting and supporting me with some personal care, domestic tasks as well as with my hobbies, also to accompany me on short outings like medical appointments, shopping or social activities while encouraging and supporting me to stay as independent as possible.
An ideal candidate would be flexible in there approach depending on my health each day, be kind, have a great sense of humour and share a love of cooking (food hygiene training and certificate can be given).

Description
Typical duties


Domestic -
General tidying and ensuring walkways are clear
General cleaning in the kitchen, wiping of worktops etc.
Vacuuming
Mopping


Personal Care:
Application of creams when required
Ensuring medications are given
Promotion of independence and physical therapy exercises
Preparing of food and drinks
Assistance in using the toilet if needed
Other tasks on occasion including soaking and washing feet or hair

Social:
Accompany and assist to go out for shopping, appointments or social activities.
Assistance to Facetime/video calling with family

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
