Hours/shifts: Weekends Saturdays 10-4 additional flexible hours during School holidays (weekend days and hours could be changed by mutual agreement).

Summary

• 14-year-old boy looking for support to access the community and learn appropriate life skills suitable for independence and adulthood, whilst having fun!
• I have Autism, ADHD, Hypermobility, and struggle with anxiety.
• I need support with accessing Social and Leisure activities such as swimming, visiting places of interest and visiting places further afield like theme parks.
• I enjoy watching and travelling on buses and trains. I also enjoy going to theme parks and gaming on my PC.


Other Requirements

• Non-smoker preferred or someone who is willing to refrain from smoking during working hours.
All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check if required.
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Description
Typical duties

Social:
• Accompanying and assisting me on shopping trips when required
• Accompany me when accessing social and leisure activities, including travelling on and to bus and train stations.
• Accompanying me to doctors/hospital appointments when required
• Occasional longer journeys
• Accompanying me on trips out e.g., to theme parks or other places of interest.
• Accompanying me to social meetings e.g., friends, family
• Supporting and encouraging me to be independent and gain social skills in the community.

Person specification
The successful applicant will be:

• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills

• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to always work to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common-sense approach to these roles.
