Job Title: Support Worker

Hourly rate: £10 an hr

Hours/shifts: Mon and Weds 6pm -10pm, Fri 7pm – 11pm (some flexibility)

• I am looking for a fun loving, enthusiastic, energetic person who can help support me to live a fun and fulfilling life
• I need support with those less fun tasks such as form filling and housework but also like to be able to have the opportunity to talk through any issues
• I enjoy cooking at home and also going out to play tennis, badminton and snooker aswell as walking and doing yoga
• I have been working as a volunteer which has been very rewarding so I want to be able to continue with this role
• It would be great if you had some experience of working with people on the Autistic Spectrum however just being patient and reliable with a willingness to learn is equally as important.
• Ideally I would like one person who could provide support however I am happy to look at a job share if this works so please apply if you are able to work any of the shifts.

The role is to take on a leading and mentoring role with a man in his early 30’s to enable him to live a fun and fulfilling life whilst also helping him to maintain an organised and safe home environment.

Typical duties
• Guidance and support to ensure safe living practices in the home
• Cooking lessons, food hygiene lessons,
• Help with Household budgeting.
• General home hygiene assistance.
• Assisting with paperwork and job applications.
• Taking a leading role in finding appropriate supported employments, this will include research into charitable organisations and making contact and following up with those that could assist.

Personal Care: 
There is no direct personal care but constant guidance in ensuring a healthy lifestyle is required

• Promoting and encouraging social interaction.
• Actively looking for opportunities to support this endeavour and participation in the initial attendance of these.

• The ideal person will have some experience of working with people who are on the Autistic Spectrum (Aspergers Syndrome experience would be advantageous). A qualification in care or a current studier looking to enhance their experience within social care are welcomed.
