Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Support Worker DP4978 Job Title: Support Worker Location: DP4978 Hourly rate: £9.10-£10.00 per hour, depending on experience. Reference: DP4978 Hours/shifts: 3 early mornings per week (approx. 6.30am - 8.30/9am) and 3 early evenings per week (approx. 4.15pm-8pm) (A total of 16 hours per week). Summary We are looking for additional help/care for our son, Samuel, who is 10 years old and has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. This may involve the occasional care of our daughter, Anabelle, who is 5 years old. Samuel is dependent on a wheelchair and lifting/hoisting for all transfers. He requires support with all activities of daily living, including personal care, play and mobility. He is a bright and happy boy, with a great sense of humour, who loves chatting, photos and music. He is a real delight to be with and is rewarding to work with. The position will involve helping with feeding, personal care (toileting, changing pads, showering, medication), entertaining and going out with Samuel, occasional housekeeping tasks). Experience is preferable, but not essential, as full training will be given and being the right person for the job is the most important. The ability to show initiative and generate your own ideas for activities with Samuel is essential. A car driver is preferable, but not essential. There will be additional hours available at weekends and during the school holidays if desired.
