Job Title: Support Worker

Location: Crawley           

Hourly rate:  £9 per hour

Hours/shifts: Mostly Saturdays during the day (couple per month) hours can be negotiated Occasional Saturday evening School holidays ad hoc


  • My son (13) has autism & severe learning difficulties. He is also nonverbal but he is a very sweet boy, He is not toilet trained and cannot dress himself etc so requires assistance with all aspects of personal care.
  • He currently prefers to stay at home mostly but we would like someone who can take him out in case he starts wanting to do that
  • Driver preferred but if they can’t were happy to have them stay at home with him, we have a dog as well



Other Requirements

  • "Exemption is claimed under the Equality Act 2010 Part 1 Schedule 9."
  • Must be comfortable with pets
  • UK driving licence preferred
  • Access to own vehicle preferred

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.


Typical duties


Personal Care: 

  • Washing and bathing
  • Showering
  • Supervision
  • Assistance with bathing
  • drying or styling hair
  • Assistance getting in and out of bath
  • Using the toilet
  • Dressing & undressing
  • helping with buttons & fastenings
  • Helping with other aspects of personal care as required (i.e assisting getting changed at swimming pool).


  • Accompanying during social and leisure activities

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
