During school terms:- 4.00pm-6.00pm on 2 or 3 days per week, days are flexible              
During school holidays:- 10.00am-4.00pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays 
• Support worker/Personal Care Assistant required to work with two brothers with Autism and learning disabilities.
• They are 7 and 4 years old. 
• The seven year old is non-verbal, has learning difficulties and is easy going and non-aggressive.  He is always smiling and well loved at his school.  He enjoys sensory play and being outdoors.  Duties include helping him to improve his learning and speech, assisting him with reading and other learning activities, taking him to social and leisure activities.
• The four year old is non-verbal, a keen learner, happy, cheerful and loved at his nursery.  He likes writing, reading, playing with toys and puzzles.  You would mostly be playing with him and taking him out once he is familiar with you.
•  Experience of autism and providing specialist support with learning and speech development is required.
• Nappy changing will be required when out and about. 
• Driver with own car preferred.

All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check
Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.
Typical duties
Personal Care:  
• Nappy changing and providing assistance to eat snacks will be required when taking the children out.
• Must be kept safe and supervised at all times as they have no danger awareness. 
• Assisting  with reading, puzzles, sensory play and other learning activities in the home.
• Providing support to enhance learning and speech.
• Driving your own car to clubs and activities e.g. Springboard project, horse riding, parks.  Public transport could be used for some activities. 
• Assisting children to participate in social and community activities.
• Assisting children with communicating their needs when out and about.

• Experience of working with children with autism
