Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Support Worker TM6510 Job Title: Support Worker Location: East Wittering Hourly rate: £10 per hour Reference: TM6510 Hours/shifts: Tuesday 9 am -2 pm, Friday 9 am-2 pm Summary A Support Worker is needed for a 23 year old man with mental health issues. The client is a kind and caring young man who needs a support worker to help reduce social isolation. The work will involve supporting the client to access activities such as visiting the cinema, swimming, bowling, visiting cafes and talking his dog for a walk. Prompting and encouragement with personal care is needed. Other Requirements Must be comfortable with pets-1 dog Must have a UK driving licence Must have access to own vehicle All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. Domestic - Putting laundry in dryer and putting away Changing bed linen Bed making Supporting and encouraging with general housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming. Preparing drinks, snacks and meals. Shopping Tidying Personal Care: Encouraging to shower/wash/upkeep of personal hygiene Encouraging to change clothes regularly Social: Assistance with gardening, visiting garden centres choosing plants flowers. Accompanying and assisting client on shopping trips when required Accompany employer when accessing social and leisure activities, swimming, bowling, cinema and walking the dog Accompanying to doctors and hospital appointments Accompanying on trips out e.g. visiting café or going out to lunch The above duties will involve driving the client in the PA’s car, The successful applicant will be: Able refrain from smoking in the work place Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality Reliable with good time-keeping Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills Honest and cheerful Creative Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
