Hours/shifts: 8 hours per week with flexibility for overtime


• I am a 19 year old guy looking for support when living independently at university.
• I need support with accessing the community and helping me to be independent within my student accommodation.
• I need support with domestic activities and general activities of daily living.
• At university I am studying computer science and artificial intelligence.
• I have cerebral palsy and I am a wheel chair user.

Other Requirements
• UK driving licence desirable

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Domestic :
Laundry, hanging out to dry, ironing, putting away
Helping with laundry, washing and drying
Loading and unloading the washing machine
Loading and unloading tumble dryer/washing line
Changing bed linen
Bed making
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.

Accompanying and assisting me with grocery and general shopping when required.
Accompany and supporting the me when accessing social and leisure activities, for example; going to the gym, going to the pub/clubbing and helping to experience and enjoy university life.
Occasional longer journeys; for example going to watch football games.
Driving and accompanying me to social events such as: Cinema, sports club and evening meetings.

The successful applicant will be:

Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
Patience and possess excellent interpersonal skills
Honest and cheerful
Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety
Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
