Work in social care Working as a Personal Assistant Support Worker/Personal Assistant CZ1342 Job Title: Support Worker / Personal Assistant Location: Outskirts of Waterlooville Hourly rate: £10 per hour Reference: CZ1342 Hours/shifts: 6 hours per week (2 x 3 hrs) Summary Employer has hearing and visual impairments and has a fully trained assistance dog. She requires daily living support to maintain a safe home, maintain paperwork, driving to access the community and shopping. Must be comfortable with being around a dog and having it travel in the car. BSL not required. Other Requirements Must be comfortable with pets - Client has an assistance dog Must have a UK driving licence Must have access to own vehicle All applicants must be willing to undertake an Enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service check Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts. Description Typical duties: - Shopping - General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming. - Minor household maintenance eg changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing - Picking up, keeping floors clear of tripping hazards - Putting things away in designated places - Organising food and checking for expiry dates - Accompanying / driving to appointments and social activities - Assisting to get to and access social events - Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork Plus any other related tasks as required Legally permitted to work in the UK. Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard to read and assist in completing documents and forms. Able to work at all times to high standards of health and safety.
