Description Typical dutiesPersonal Care: • Reminding to use the toilet, assistance with changing pads. Social: (please add in/delete as applicable) • Accompanying and assisting the child to attend activities e.g. swimming, football matches, trampolining, play schemes, gymnastics. • Driving her in your own car.• Helping her build up her confidence and independence in social situations and develop friendships with other children.• Helping her to understand her feelings and manage anxieties.• Helping her to make good choices and decisions when out in the community. • Keeping her supervised and safe at all times e.g. reminding her to be careful when crossing roads. Person specificationThe successful applicant will be: • Female due to personal care needs • Have experience of working with autistic children• Able to reassure and motivate• Respectful of the employer’s privacy and confidentiality• Reliable with good time-keeping• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties• Patient and calm• Friendly and cheerful• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & SafetyPrevious experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
