Job Title: Support Worker/Personal Care Assistant
Location: Broadwater area of Worthing
Hourly rate: £10.00

Hours/shifts: 4.5 hours per week, split between 2 shifts (2 hours and 2.5 hours)
2 evenings per week, days to be arranged. Shift start from 5pm.


• I am a 23-year-old man living in Worthing with my assistance dog
• I am currently a social work student and also work part time
• I have Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and use a wheelchair full time
• My interests include wheelchair basketball, arts and crafts and reading
• I use wheelchairs and have my Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle
• I require support with meal preparation, shopping and housework
• You must be friendly, reliable, flexible and trustworthy
• Experience of working with people with disabilities required

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Domestic - 
Changing bed linen
General cleaning
Taking out rubbish
General housework, including cleaning, dusting and vacuuming.
Minor household maintenance e.g. changing light bulbs, taking down curtains for washing
Preparing drinks, snacks and meals.
Correspondence e.g. reading letters, help writing replies, form-filling, assisting with household paperwork

• Accompanying and assisting employer on shopping trips when required
• Whilst on duty at the employer’s home watching TV and assisting with craft activities
• Pushing the employer’s manual wheelchair when out.

• Able to both follow instructions and work on own initiative
• Hygienic, tidy minded and well organised
• Fit and healthy to undertake the required duties
• Patient and possess excellent interpersonal skills
• Friendly and cheerful
• Creative
• Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
• Legally permitted to work in the United Kingdom
• Able to work at all times to high standards of Health & Safety

Previous experience preferred but this is not as essential as a kind and common sense approach to these roles.
