Job Title: Young Person ‘Buddy’ Social Support PA
Location: Handcross, Haywards Heath
Hourly rate: £12.00 per hour, plus mileage at 35p per mile
Reference: DP6671
Hours/shifts: 3 hours a week outside school hours, to be agreed flexibly


• We are looking for a Young Person “buddy” with a “have a go attitude” to offer social support for our 12yr old son, who has Autism, Developmental Coordination Disorder and Social Anxiety
• The role will involve spending time on a one-to-one basis in the family home and encourage activities in the community and encourage independence and living skills.

Successful applicants will be entitled to Holiday pay and will be issued employment contracts.

Typical duties

Playing PS5/PS4 games with my son
My son would like to try some activities with you; “Have a go at” football, tennis, badminton, basketball
He also has a gym membership
He enjoys the cinema, shopping and listening to music.
Support to develop independence,
Lead by example with reassurance and appropriate guidelines

Person specification
The successful applicant will be:
A positive role model, understanding and patient
Reliable, trustworthy, and punctual, with a good sense of humour
Take initiative and think outside the box on occasion!

Able to speak and read English to a reasonable standard
Able to work at all times to high standards of Health and Safety
Legally permitted to work in the UK
